GLOCAL partners with Canadian universities to deliver virtual-first experiential learning placements that align with your academic standards, learning outcomes, placement hours, and administrative requirements.
GLOCAL Foundation of Canada is a national not-for-profit, funded by Employment and Social Development Canada, dedicated to promoting digital civic engagement through local participation and global understanding.
We work directly with universities, faculty, experiential learning offices, and program coordinators to build placements around each program’s academic standards, learning outcomes, required hours, and reporting needs.
Our virtual-first model helps institutions scale placements while reducing barriers for students. Each placement is designed to be flexible, structured, and connected to meaningful civic, research, data, policy, communications, or community-impact work.
GLOCAL supported 326 students through experiential learning opportunities, including 237 students in Winter and 89 students in Summer.
GLOCAL worked with 10 partner institutions across Canada to co-design flexible experiential learning opportunities with universities, faculty, and student-success teams. .
Students completed over 20,000 placement hours through GLOCAL’s experiential learning programs, contributing to civic research, data, design, communications, policy, and community-focused projects.

Team-based projects where students tackle real organizational challenges, develop practical recommendations, and present polished deliverables to GLOCAL staff and partners.
Applied research opportunities where students support literature reviews, civic education resources, policy scans, datasets, reports, and public-facing knowledge products.
