What is GLOCAL, and what does the name mean?
GLOCAL combines global understanding with local participation. It is a national not-for-profit organization helping young Canadians and communities take part in civic life through service, learning and digital tools.
Why global and local?
Public concerns such as climate change, poverty and inequality cross borders, but communities experience them differently. GLOCAL’s approach connects a wider perspective with practical work that responds to local needs.
What does GLOCAL stand for?
Global vision. Local engagement. Open-mindedness. Creative solutions. Adaptive leadership. Lifelong learning. These ideas guide how the organization approaches civic participation.
